TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

1. Yoga wear -

  1. Baggy tops are fine for men, but women may consider choosing tighter tops so that when you're in an inversion (like shoulder support), the top stays in place (and covers what you want it to cover!).
  2. Yoga can be done in shorts, leggings, or sweatshirts. But many choose leggings, quick-dry capri pants, or long form-fitting pants, as they help their instructor check their alignment.

2. Yoga equipment:

  1. If you are new to yoga, you may want to buy a yoga mat. Alternatively, most studios have mats that you can borrow or rent.
  2. Most studios offer basic accessories, such as blocks, which are used to help with alignment, and straps, which can help if you are new to yoga.
  3. You will also want to bring some water and a towel.

3. Take a deep breath -

  1. We often equate yoga with some tough postures to twist the limbs. And don't you sometimes worry that: "I can't even touch my toes, how can I do yoga?" Yoga is not about touching your toes or reaching 98 degrees to the northeast.
  2. It is a simple process of joining with yourself, using your breath, body, and mind. And it is easy and effortless.

4. Follow the tradition:

  1. It is best to start learning yoga practice under the guidance of a qualified yoga teacher who can guide you through the correct way to do each technique.
  2. This would help you to learn yoga postures correctly and avoid possible injuries. Some of the philosophies or techniques taught in yoga may be new.
  3. It is a good idea to keep an open mind as it will help broaden and enhance your yoga experience.

5. Your doctor and yoga teacher are just a phone call away -

  1. If you have a medical condition, please inform your yoga instructor before beginning training.
  2. It will help the teacher to personalize his yoga posture practice.

 6. Ease of Use, High Thinking:

  1. Wear comfortable clothing when going to a yoga class or practicing yoga at home.
  2. Also, avoid wearing excessive belts or jewelry, as it could interfere with yoga practice.

 7. Wake up to the call of the cuckoo:

  1. Although it is best to practice yoga poses early in the morning, if it doesn't happen, don't let that be an excuse not to practice yoga at all!
  2. You can do it at any time of the day at your convenience.

 8. Lighter Stomach Aids For Your Yoga Practice:

  1. It is recommended to practice on an empty stomach or at least 2-3 hours after your last meal.
  2.  It is also recommended to drink at least three to four liters of water during the day, as it will help you flush out toxins from the body that are released during yoga practice.

 9. Set the tone just before you begin:

  1. Sukshma Vyayam or gentle warm-up exercises help to relax the body and prepare it for the yoga poses to come.

 10. Smile to guide you through the miles:

  1. See the difference for yourself. Maintaining a soft smile relaxes your body and mind and helps you enjoy yoga poses much more.
